Established to ensure integrity and consistency of valves in service, the Score European Valve Research Centre is a Lloyds Accredited Laboratory, and is now the largest independent specialised testing facility available to industry.
Valve tests specified in International Standards are not sufficient to demonstrate fitness for purpose in certain critical applications. Consequently, some valves will require additional testing in order to simulate operating conditions.
Publications in industry journals and presence on international standards committees is testimony to the groundbreaking work achieved by Score's engineering team.
Score have all the facilities to pressure test components in liquid and gas. There are ten dedicated permanent test cells, fully tooled for all valve variants. The company also have the facilities to impose both cryogenic and elevated temperature on the valve at the appropriate pressure. Torque, tension, compression, shear, benching forces etc. can also be applied simultaneously in the appropriate test rigs.
All testing is carried out utilising high sensitivity, fully calibrated measurement equipment that meets or exceeds relevant standards.
