Control Valve and Diagnostic Group

The Score Group have their Control Valve and Diagnostic division centred in Perth, Australia. Our main aim is to provide clients with up-to-date technical information and service that is cost effective and in line with today’s best practices methodology.

The scope of our control valve expertise lies in three major areas. We provide our clients with engineering design solutions, project management and servicing.

Engineering Design

Engineering design is a critical part of the control valve division. We can help you with valves and actuator sizing, failure and performance investigations, bid analysis, pneumatic/hydraulic panel designs and technical studies.

Control valves sizing is a highly specialised area that requires years of experience combined with sophisticated simulation software. All valve and actuator sizing calculations are done independently using ISA 570.03 formulas and methodology. This ensures that the results are independent of manufactures data specifications and that safety or function is not compromised at any stage.

At Score, we provide our clients with current knowledge on industry standards and products from all leading manufacturers. By letting Score conduct an independent bid analysis, you can be sure that the product we advise will both meet your specific requirement and meet long-term cost effective strategies.

Project Management

Many of Score’s clients rely on us to assist them with the maintenance strategies of various aspects of there plant. These include site surveys, implementation of maintenance strategies, inventory management and shutdown maintenance management.

In the case of shutdowns we have completed many successful minor and major shutdowns for clients around the world. Our technicians will visit your plant for a detailed survey of all valves and ancillaries. This will enable Score to implement a manageable database and develop a scope best suited for your needs. The results of such a scope will be returned to you, to be used for your shutdown planning.

Servicing

Our team has practical experience on most types of control valve and auxiliaries in the market place. We have the ability to service control valves in any industry. We also have extensive experience with control valves particular to the LNG. We can provide your operation with hands-on servicing, calibration, testing and NATA or ANSI certification requirements.

Within the area of servicing we cover installations, re-configurations, repairs and upgrades to all control valves. Depending on the time and requirements of the task, work will be either carried out on-site or in one of our fully equipped workshops.

With our state of the art portable diagnostic instruments, we can test any pneumatically actuated valve, regardless of make. Score can then provide you with an independent review of the results detailing problems such as performance and condition of internal valve components.

In addition to signature testing, we conduct valve seat leakage using ultrasonic test equipment. Leaking valves generate acoustic emissions that can be detected. Pioneered by Score, the Acoustic Emissions (AE) device has been successfully used for several years for the non-invasive detection and estimation of internal valve leakage.
